Studio Music Lessons in Sydney
Visit your teacher’s own music space and learn on their instruments, in a setting built for focus. Ideal for piano, drums and anything hard to move.
Why Choose a Studio Lesson?
A Better Instrument
Some teachers have a grand piano, a full drum kit or specialist gear that most homes cannot match. Keyna, for example, teaches on a Kohler and Campbell grand piano in her Ashbury studio.
Focus Without Distraction
A studio is set up for music. No TV in the next room, no household noise, and a clear start and end to the lesson.
Great for Loud or Large Instruments
Drums, piano, harp and anything else that is awkward to carry or noisy for neighbours are often easier to teach in a studio.
Room for Extras
Some studio teachers offer recording, mixing or mock exams alongside one-on-one lessons.

Studio availability depends on the teacher, the day and the time. Tell us your suburb and we will confirm which studios are close to you and which are taking new students.
What a Studio Lesson Is Like
You arrive, warm up and work through the plan your teacher has set for the day. Because the instrument and materials are already there, you can spend the full lesson on music rather than setting up. At the end, your teacher explains what to practise before next time.
If you would like a parent to sit in, or you have questions about parking and access, mention it when you enquire and we will check with the teacher.
Studio, Home or Online?
Not sure which suits you? A rule of thumb: choose a studio if you want the best instrument and a focused space, lessons at your home if travel is the barrier, and online lessons if flexibility matters most. Many students start in one format and switch later. Your teacher can often accommodate both.
Common Questions
Are lessons held at a teacher’s home?
Often, yes. Several of our studio teachers work from a home studio, a dedicated room set up for teaching. We confirm the details when you enquire and before your first lesson.
Can a parent stay during the lesson?
Usually. Many teachers are happy for parents to stay, especially with younger children. Let us know your preference and we will check with the teacher.
Will I need to bring my own instrument?
It depends on the instrument. For piano and drums the teacher normally has the instrument. For portable instruments such as guitar, violin or flute you will usually bring your own. Ask us if you are unsure.
Is a studio lesson cheaper than lessons at home?
Teachers set their own rates, so it varies. Teachers who travel to you may charge a travel fee, which studio teachers do not need to, but ask us for current rates in your suburb.
What if there is no studio near me?
Tell us your suburb. We also have teachers who travel to students’ homes and teachers who teach online, so there is almost always an option that works.
