Roger — Acoustic & Electric Guitar Teacher

Roger is a patient, structured and student-centred guitar teacher based in Lindfield on the North Shore, with a strong background in lo-fi, jazz, R&B, neo-soul and J-pop. He teaches acoustic and electric guitar to beginners of all ages, and is fluent in English, Mandarin and Japanese, making him a great fit for students from diverse backgrounds.

His approach focuses on building real foundations from the ground up, introducing chords, rhythm and technique progressively, and weaving in music theory and ear training as students develop. Roger regularly demonstrates by singing and playing simultaneously to show how timing and expression come together in practice, keeping lessons engaging and grounded in real music.

He offers lessons from his home in Lindfield as well as online, catering to beginners of all ages whether they are picking up a guitar for the first time or returning after a break.
