Wendy — Piano Teacher

Wendy is a dedicated piano teacher based in Leichhardt (Inner West Sydney), teaching from her home studio. She began playing piano at age five and achieved ABRSM Grade 8 Practical by age fourteen, progressing from beginner to Grade 8 with only two practical exams through consistent practice and strong musical focus. Wendy has extensive performance experience, including school concert performances and work as a piano accompanist.

Wendy studied at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and began teaching while at university in Hong Kong, working with a wide range of students from young children to working professionals. She has been teaching in Australia since 2016, helping students build confidence, musicality, and a solid foundation of core skills.

Her teaching style focuses on making lessons enjoyable, structured, and skill-based — so students develop the independence to keep learning music for life. While Wendy was trained in classical piano, she also teaches other styles including pop, tailoring repertoire and goals to each student. She holds a Diploma in Music Skills, ABRSM Grade 5 Theory of Music, and Royal Conservatory of Music training in teaching elementary piano, and is an associated member of the Music Teachers’ Association of NSW.

Wendy teaches in English or Cantonese, and welcomes students of all ages who want a supportive teacher with high standards and a genuine love of music.
