Xavier — Violin, Viola, Music Composition & Theory Teacher
Xavier is a violinist and violist with over fifteen years of experience, currently studying a Bachelor of Music Performance and a Bachelor of Advanced Studies in Statistics at the University of Sydney. In 2026 he served as concertmaster for the Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra, and in 2024 won first prize in the under nineteen category of the Fine Master Violins Competition. He has also been a co-recipient of the George Henderson’s Travelling Scholarship, which took his string quartet to perform and study in Germany and Finland.
Growing up in Melbourne, Xavier began violin at age three through the Suzuki method and went on to study at the fully selective Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School. He was selected by audition to perform in a professional side-by-side production at Victorian Opera, completed his AMEB AmusA and LMusA diplomas, and participated in masterclasses with Marlene Ito (Principal 2nd at the Berlin Philharmonic), Suyeon Kang, Akiko Suwanai, and the Takács Quartet. He performs regularly with ensembles including the Melbourne String Ensemble and the Australian Youth Orchestra.
As a teacher, Xavier focuses on keeping students motivated and helping them reach their goals by sharing his genuine love for the instrument. He brings the same discipline and curiosity that shaped his own training into every lesson, making him well suited to students who want both strong technical foundations and a deeper connection to music.

Happy Parents & Adult Students
Xavier has been my violin teacher for a while now. He has taught using the Suzuki books and we are just finishing book 2. As a teacher, he is very patient and empathises with beginner frustrations. He works with both adults (myself) and children.
He is also really good – I know he studies at the con and has travelled outside of Australia to play – but is very humble about it.

Adult studentXavier has been a very supportive and encouraging violin teacher for my daughter. His patience, guidance, and positive attitude have helped her build her confidence and improve her technique.
Most importantly, Xavier has greatly increased her interest and enthusiasm for playing. We appreciate his dedication and guidance and highly recommend him as a violin teacher.Melissa
