Sam — Acoustic, Classical & Electric Guitar, Music Theory and Composition Teacher

Sam is a passionate guitarist with 13 years of experience playing guitar and exploring music composition. Currently preparing for his AMEB examination, he has learned from a range of tutors and developed a strong understanding of different teaching approaches. His own experiences inspired him to create a more enjoyable and student focused way of learning, where playing music remains fun while students develop their skills. He teaches classical, acoustic and electric guitar, alongside music theory and composition, welcoming students of all ages and abilities.

Drawing on his experience as both a learner and a teacher, Sam has developed personalised teaching methods tailored to each student’s age, skill level and musical goals. He offers a structured learning pathway from beginner to advanced levels, including Grades 1 to 8 for guitar, Grades 1 to 3 for music theory and Grades 1 to 2 for music composition. He also supports students following existing courses, school programs or independent learning pathways.

Sam believes that effective music education combines correct technique, deliberate practice and genuine enjoyment. His lessons focus on helping students build confidence, understand the music they play and make consistent progress without losing their passion for learning. Whether someone is picking up a guitar for the first time or looking to refine their existing abilities, Sam aims to create a supportive and engaging environment where every student can grow as a musician.
