Alex is a professional private music tutor specialising in percussion, piano and music theory, with over 6 years of teaching experience across both private lessons and schools including Barker College. He is currently completing a Bachelor of Music Education at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, has performed with the Conservatorium Orchestra, and has continued to refine his playing through advanced private study with leading percussion tutors.
Alex graduated from the Conservatorium in 2021 and has been learning percussion and piano for over 15 years. He has also performed in numerous competitions and eisteddfods, including School Spectacular, giving him strong experience in both performance and musicianship at a high level.
His teaching style is clear, supportive and adaptable, with a strong focus on rhythm, technique and real musical understanding. Rather than forcing students into a rigid approach, Alex tailors lessons to the individual so they can build confidence, develop properly, and make steady progress over time.
Whether a student is just starting out or already has experience, Alex aims to make lessons engaging, structured and genuinely effective, helping each student build a strong foundation while continuing to grow musically.
