Jun is a clarinet, piano, music theory, and composition teacher with a strong classical background and a broad range of performance experience. A graduate of the Class of 2023, he studied on music scholarships at both The McDonald College and Newington College, where he was the lead clarinetist in both the Symphonic Winds and Symphony Orchestras. During his senior school years, he also performed in Big Band and Choir.
He achieved his AMusA Diploma in Clarinet in Year 10 and went on to rank 1st in NSW for both HSC Music 2 and Music Extension, receiving a Band 6 in both courses. He was also nominated for Encore, competed in state and national solo competitions, and has performed and recorded with The Wiggles.
Jun has experience across a wide range of styles, including Classical, Romantic, 20th and 21st Century, Modern, and Jazz. He has performed in orchestras, wind ensembles, jazz bands, and rock bands, giving him a versatile and well-rounded musical perspective.
Jun teaches students with a range of goals, from complete beginners learning for enjoyment, to students preparing for AMEB exams, to those developing their skills in music theory and composition. He tailors each lesson to the individual student, with a focus on making music engaging, rewarding, and enjoyable.
