Margaret — Piano, Composition & Music Theory Teacher
Margaret is a highly awarded music educator, pianist and composer with 45+ years’ experience. She teaches piano, theory, improvisation and composition for ages 5+, tailoring lessons to each student while building strong musicianship, confidence and creativity.
She has developed a comprehensive teaching system published in her ‘Contemporary’ series. Her holistic method combines the aural, visual and tactile aspects of playing, using a simplified interval approach plus harmonic understanding and improvisation to help students learn faster and play with real musical fluency.
Margaret is a represented composer at the Australian Music Centre. Her works are published in Australia and Germany, recorded internationally (including Parma Recordings, USA), and appear in exam syllabuses including AMEB, AGMS, ANZCA and ABRSM. Her music is frequently aired on ABC Classic FM and Fine Music 102.5 FM, and in 2025 her work “Bossa Sonora” was performed at Carnegie Hall (New York).
Qualifications include (selected): PhD (Music/Arts), BMus (Composition) — University of Sydney, A.Mus.A (Piano), Dip.E (Piano Pedagogy, WPTA), F.Mus.Ed.ASMC, F.Comp.ASMC.
