Valarie — Singing, Piano & Music Theory Teacher

Valarie is a singing and piano teacher with a strong classical foundation, holding ABRSM Grade 8 Singing with Distinction, ABRSM Grade 7 Piano, and ABRSM Grade 5 Theory. She has continued playing piano purely out of personal passion since completing her grade, and her musical life extends well beyond the studio as a Soprano 1 with the Sydney Philharmonia Choir and as lead vocalist for her high school rock band. Her performance experience spans solo showcases at her high school graduation, open mics, and band performances at the University of Sydney, alongside several wins in solo and duet singing competitions throughout high school.

Valarie’s teaching journey began by teaching piano to her cousins from a young age, and she has since built broader experience through academic tutoring with children from age 7 through to Grade 10. This background has made her especially comfortable and confident working with young learners, and she enjoys structuring lessons around each student’s individual pace and needs. She has a particular affinity for teaching singing to younger children, including structured grade-based progression for students working towards exams.

Combining her performance background with her tutoring experience, Valarie brings a patient, encouraging approach to every lesson. Whether guiding a beginner through their first piano pieces or helping a young singer build technique and confidence, she is dedicated to creating lessons that feel supportive, personal and enjoyable.
