Sophia — Trumpet & Music Theory Teacher

Sophia is a trumpet teacher and active performer currently studying a Bachelor of Jazz Performance at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

She began playing trumpet at age 11 and studied at the Wollongong High School of the Performing Arts, achieving a Band 6 in HSC Music 1, alongside training at the Wollongong Conservatorium. She has since performed across jazz, contemporary, and orchestral settings.

Sophia has received multiple scholarships at the Sydney Conservatorium and has performed with artists including Kevin Hunt, Eamon Dilworth, Laura Case, Ken Fields, DOBBY, GO-JO, Nardi Simpson, and Tiago De Lucca. Her performance experience includes venues such as the Sydney Opera House (Utzon Room), City Recital Hall, and ACO On The Pier.

She teaches students of all ages and levels, from beginners to more advanced players, and can help with school band repertoire, technical development, and personal musical goals. Her teaching style is supportive, structured, and encouraging, with a focus on helping students build confidence, strong fundamentals, and enjoyment in their playing.
