Picasso — Piano Teacher

Picasso — Piano Teacher

Picasso is a private piano teacher with over three years of teaching experience, specialising in classical technique grounded in the Russian school of musicianship. A former aspiring concert pianist, he is currently completing a double degree in Law and Psychology (Honours) at UNSW, which gives him a strong understanding of how students learn, stay motivated and build confidence.

He has trained under four distinguished teachers: two graduates of the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music, a former scholarship student of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory who also studied at the Royal College of Music in London, and a First Prize winner at the 2026 Australian National Eisteddfod. Many of Picasso’s students have achieved A Honours in their AMEB exams, and he has helped many of them prepare for music scholarships.

His teaching style is structured, supportive and encouraging, with a strong focus on technique, musicality and real understanding of the music. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach, Picasso tailors each lesson to the individual, balancing disciplined foundations with the joy of playing so students build confidence and make steady progress over time.

Picasso has been wonderful with my daughter, keeping lessons structured while making sure she still enjoys every minute at the piano. Her technique and confidence have grown noticeably, and she now looks forward to practising.

As an adult beginner, I was nervous about starting, but Picasso made lessons clear, encouraging and tailored to how I learn. I’ve made steady progress and genuinely love playing now.
