Michelle — Piano & Music Theory Teacher

Michelle is an Australian pianist and versatile soloist and chamber musician. She completed a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance (Honours) at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music in 2020 and is now pursuing a Master of Arts in Klavier Konzertfach at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, with her studies abroad supported by the Ian Potter Cultural Trust and Recitals Australia.

Michelle has performed widely across Europe and Australia in recitals, festivals and masterclasses, returning to the Haus Marteau Masterclass several years running as a grant recipient. Recent highlights include a semifinal place at the International Rosario Marciano Piano Competition and a role in the Mozarteum University Messiaen Project. Earlier in her career she performed for the official launch of the Ian Potter Southbank Centre, appeared on 3MBS radio, and earned frequent AMEB awards from 2005 to 2017.

She brings over 5 years of teaching experience to individual and group lessons, drawing on European approaches to piano pedagogy, with a particular affinity for teaching children and teenagers. Alongside her performing career, Michelle is deeply committed to developing her teaching practice. She is passionate about building confidence on stage and easing performance anxiety, as well as long-lasting, efficient practice that is deeply intentional and applicable to any kind of learning.

Michelle is such a fantastic Piano teacher. She's really patient and gives so much positive constructive feedback that boosts your confidence whilst creating a really calming atmosphere to learn. She’s incredibly well prepared and has a really deep knowledge of the Piano. I’m a COMPLETE beginner and we have been working about 2 times per week, and i’ve found that 2-3 lessons per week have been very useful for my personal development so would suggest the more you can do the better. I’ve learnt so much in such a short space of time thanks to Michelle’s help and I always feel more & more confident with the piano after each of our lessons. I would highly recommend her as a Piano teacher!
