Lily — Cello & Music Theory Teacher

Lily is a highly accomplished cellist and online teacher based in London, with 6 years of teaching experience across a range of ages and levels. She completed her AMEB LMusA with Distinction, has been recognised as an ABRSM Scholar/Artist, and studied at leading conservatories including The Juilliard School and the Melbourne Conservatorium for her Bachelor of Music, followed by a Master of Music at the Royal College of Music. She was also a scholar in the Sydney Conservatorium Rising Stars Program from 2010 to 2020.

Professionally, Lily is currently on trial as Co-Principal with the English National Orchestra, is a 2026 Fellow with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, and is performing with Orchestra Victoria, Opera Australia, and The Australian Ballet during their 2026 seasons.

She teaches cello online to students of all ages and levels, and also offers music theory lessons up to Grade 3. Her teaching combines strong technical foundations with real performance insight, with lessons tailored to each student’s level, goals, and learning style.

Lily also speaks English, Mandarin, and Shanghainese.

Started lessons six months ago at age 8 as a complete beginner. Lily is the first teacher, and we’ve been very pleased with the progress so far. We are now ready to complete Grade 2 and enjoy their lessons each week.
