Ken — Guitar, Vocal & Music Theory Teacher

Ken is a versatile music teacher, performer, songwriter and producer specialising in vocals, guitar and music theory. A graduate of JMC Academy with a Bachelor of Music, he has more than five years of private teaching experience, working with students aged five to 77, from beginners to those preparing for performances and exams. Many students stay with him long term, with his longest standing student now in their fifth year of lessons.

Ken believes learning music should be fun, and shapes lessons around each student’s interests, personality and goals. He teaches contemporary vocals, acoustic and electric guitar, and practical music theory, always connecting technical concepts like chords, scales, rhythm, harmony and song structure back to real songs. As a songwriter and producer himself, he also helps students develop their own ideas through lyric writing, melody and production, and supports those working towards HSC Music.

Beyond the studio, Ken performs regularly across Sydney and spent years performing in Singapore, including shows at the Esplanade Concourse and a sold-out original show at the Esplanade Annexe Studio. He continues to write and release his own music, and is the founder of The Choir Experience, a corporate program built around learning and performing songs in three-part harmony. Throughout, his focus stays the same: helping students grow into confident, creative musicians who look forward to their lessons.
