Julian — Drums, Production, Logic Pro & Percussion Teacher

Julian is a passionate music educator holding a Bachelor of Music from Western Sydney University with a major in live performance and sound recording. His teaching philosophy centers on achieving a steady and enjoyable learning experience by focusing on achievable short-term goals rather than solely chasing big ambitions. Drawing from years of experience working with diverse clients, he expertly tailors his programs to match each student’s unique age, knowledge, skill level, and learning style. Furthermore, he brings exceptional patience and confidence to his teaching, allowing him to successfully support students with neurological differences.

In his drum and percussion lessons, Julian establishes a solid technical foundation by teaching students drum names, tone colors, tempo, and fundamental counting. He emphasizes proper hand technique through sticking exercises and drum rolls to improve hand-eye coordination, alongside syncopation drills that foster creativity and improvisation. Whether teaching beginners how to read sheet music or guiding advanced students through complex time signatures, dynamics, and active listening, he ensures every lesson incorporates songs that match the student’s personal musical taste.

Beyond percussion, Julian offers comprehensive music production workshops where students master digital audio workstations like Logic and Pro Tools to record, edit, mix, and master professional tracks. He also provides unique studio experiences, including multi-camera live drum cover recordings that serve as a powerful motivator for learners of all levels. Grounded in his active career as a professional gigging and session musician, Julian provides engaging, well-rounded instruction that equips students with real-world musical intuition and technical mastery.
