Deffy — Piano Teacher

Deffy is a piano teacher and current Master of Publishing student at the University of Sydney, bringing a genuine passion for music education alongside her academic pursuits. She holds AMEB Piano Grade 7 (B+) and Grade 6 (A+)qualifications, as well as ABRSM Grade 3, and completed VCE Music Performance at Korowa Anglican Girls’ School in Melbourne. Her playing has been shaped by training with respected pianists and pedagogues, including Natasha Linand Yasmin Rowe, and she has performed at venues such as the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, the University of Melbourne and the University of Sydney Piano Society.

Deffy believes piano lessons should be enjoyable, encouraging and tailored to each student. Through her teaching experience with Music Lessons Australia, she has worked with beginner and young learners of different personalities, learning styles and musical goals, adapting her approach to help each student build solid technique, confidence and creativity. She is especially passionate about nurturing a genuine love of music in students who are just beginning their journey.

She aims to create a patient and supportive space where students feel comfortable learning at their own pace, making mistakes and celebrating progress along the way. Deffy is certified to work with children and is enthusiastic about helping students of all ages, whether beginners or those continuing their musical development, discover the joy of playing piano.
