Amanda — Violin, Piano, Music Theory & Musicianship Teacher

Amanda is a passionate violin teacher based in Sydney who enjoys helping students develop their musical abilities and a genuine love for playing. She holds an Associate qualification with Trinity College London and has an AMEB background spanning Preliminary to Grade 8. With experience teaching private violin lessons in Perth and performing with the WA Youth Orchestra, she brings valuable teaching and performance experience to her work. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney and is excited to share her passion for music with the next generation of musicians.

Amanda combines the Suzuki method with AMEB repertoire, adapting her teaching to suit each student’s age, experience, learning style and goals. Alongside practical violin technique, she incorporates music theory to help students understand rhythm, scales, key signatures, phrasing and musical structure. She also encourages students to explore different musical styles, from classical repertoire and examination pieces to jazz, contemporary music, film soundtracks and popular songs, making learning more engaging and personally rewarding.

Amanda believes that music education should build both confidence and independence. She creates a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, exploring their interests and progressing at their own pace. By developing essential skills such as posture, bow control, intonation, tone production and musical expression, she helps students become well rounded musicians who understand the music they play. Whether learning for enjoyment or preparing for AMEB examinations, Amanda aims to make every lesson a positive and inspiring musical experience.
