Lucinda — Recorder, Piano & Theory Teacher

Lucinda is a passionate and approachable music teacher who specializes in helping young children discover a genuine love for music through the recorder and foundational music theory. Her lessons are designed to be fun, relaxing, and entirely free of stress, ensuring that practice never feels like a chore. By starting with the basics and adapting her pace to each student, she creates a welcoming environment where kids feel motivated to learn, practice, and proudly showcase their developing talents.

Drawing on her eight years of playing experience and her completed Grade 8 AMEB exam, she passes on a detailed and dedicated style of instruction learned from decorated performers like Mikaela Oberg. She builds a strong technical foundation through reliable breathing, fingering, and tonguing exercises, all while incorporating an extensive range of music books and a practice-based structure. Students are encouraged to explore genres they genuinely enjoy, allowing them to master a multitude of techniques naturally while having fun.

As a dedicated mentor, Lucinda takes the time to carefully listen to every student’s improvements, striking a balance between positive encouragement and constructive critique. She offers a comprehensive AMEB learning program and happily assists with school music classes, tests, and performances. Through her empathetic and flexible approach, she equips young learners with the skills and confidence they need to shine.
