Dima — Drums, Piano, Music Theory & Music Production Teacher
Dima is a professionally trained musician and educator originally from Odessa, Ukraine, whose passion for music began during primary school while playing along to The Beatles. His musical education began with private lessons before continuing at the Odessa College of Arts and Culture, where he developed a strong interest in jazz and pop music.
With extensive training across drums, classical percussion and piano, Dima has developed a detailed understanding of rhythm, coordination, technique and musical interpretation. His approach to percussion draws on established methods including Gary Chester and Chris Adams’ New Breed for developing limb independence, as well as Tommy Igoe’s Groove Essentials for studying different styles and grooves. For piano, he works with Hanon’s exercises and Nina Shirinskaya’s Scales and Arpeggios, focusing on technique, coordination and efficient fingering.
Dima believes that music is a universal language that encourages unity, learning and personal development. He places strong importance on creating a positive and respectful learning environment where students feel comfortable, supported and motivated to develop their abilities. His teaching combines disciplined musical training with patience and encouragement, helping students build concentration, coordination and confidence while developing a deeper understanding and appreciation of music.
