Thomas — Guitar, Bass, Piano, Drums, Songwriting & Music Production Teacher

Thomas is a Sydney Inner West musician, producer and teacher with five years of teaching experience and a diverse background as a multi instrumentalist. He has played guitar and bass across funk, punk rock, hard rock and metal bands, coming through Sydney’s underground music scene and performing at venues including Club 77, The Burdekin, Mothership and Rock Lily at The Star. He also performs regularly in a covers duo across pubs, bars, weddings and private events throughout Sydney.

Alongside performing, Thomas hosts a weekly show on Bondi Radio, DJs, and writes, records and releases his own music as cptn thndrblt. He handles everything from guitar tracking to full production using Logic Pro and Ableton Live, and is currently working on a six song release campaign. His experience spans guitar, bass, piano and drums, giving him a broad understanding of different instruments, musical styles and the creative process behind songwriting and production.

Thomas brings a patient, informal and judgement free approach to teaching. He works with beginners on guitar, bass, piano, drums and music theory, as well as songwriting and music production. His teaching starts with the music students enjoy, using familiar songs to develop technique, theory and confidence in a practical way. For students interested in songwriting or production, he can also combine instrumental skills with arrangement and recording, helping them understand how ideas develop from a song into a finished track.
