Merilyn is an accredited vocal coach, guitar teacher, published and award winning songwriter, and professional singer with over 30 years of experience in Sydney’s music industry. Alongside an extensive performing career, she has spent more than 15 years teaching students of all ages and skill levels. Her training includes contemporary vocal techniques, acoustic and electric guitar, music theory, ear training, and sight singing through the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, as well as music practice and management studies at Sydney TAFE.

One of only a small number of certified THROGA® vocal teachers in Australia, Merilyn specialises in a science based approach to healthy vocal development. Developed in New York, the THROGA® method combines vocal anatomy, targeted exercises, and evidence based techniques to strengthen the voice while promoting safe singing without unnecessary strain. Whether students are building confidence, refining technique, preparing for performances, or developing their own songwriting, Merilyn provides personalised guidance backed by decades of industry experience.

Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals and are available in singing and vocal coaching, acoustic and electric guitar, songwriting, beginner piano, music theory, and musicianship. Career guidance and mentoring are also available for students pursuing professional pathways. Every lesson is designed to be engaging, supportive, and practical, helping students develop strong musical foundations while growing in confidence and creativity.
