Jaime — Saxophone, Clarinet & Piano Teacher

Jaime Gibson is an accomplished music educator, performer, and Director of the Music Teachers’ Association of NSW. With qualifications including a Bachelor of Music, Graduate Diploma in Education, and Master’s in Music Education, Jaime has taught both in Australia and overseas, including at The Juilliard School in New York.

Jaime teaches clarinet, saxophone, and piano across classical, jazz, and pop, working with students who want both strong foundations and genuine enjoyment in learning music. His teaching is shaped by a deep belief that music should be more than just technical development — it should be engaging, creative, and personally meaningful.

Having performed at venues including the Sydney Opera House and Royal Albert Hall, and taught students from a wide range of backgrounds, Jaime brings both high-level experience and a broad musical perspective to his lessons. His approach is encouraging, adaptable, and designed to help students stay motivated for the long term.

Reflecting on his own journey, Jaime understands that many students lose interest when music feels too rigid or disconnected from what they actually enjoy. That experience shaped his teaching philosophy: students learn best when they are challenged properly, but also when they feel inspired by the music they are playing. Whether a student loves classical repertoire, jazz improvisation, or contemporary songs, Jaime aims to help them build real skill while keeping their passion for music alive.
