Madeleine is an international composer, engraver, performer, and educator whose work explores nature, post-minimalistic textures, and the spaces between objective and subjective realities. Her music has been performed by The Juilliard String Quartet and Trio Immersio, and has received critical attention in the Polish music magazine Glissando, which described her Piano Trio No. 1 as evoking “the rhythm of rain and a dialogue of sounds during a spring storm.”
Madeleine was awarded the Diplôme du Stage d’Été with distinction at the European American Musical Alliance Summer Music Institute. Alongside her compositional work, she brings professional engraving and transcription experience from her work with the Orchestra of New Spain and St. Mark’s Church, and has performed at prestigious venues including The Institut de France, The Chicago Symphony Center, and The Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas, Texas.
Her musicological research centers on pastoral ecomusicology, with a particular focus on the treatment of swans as liminal symbols in the works of Finnish composers Jean Sibelius and Einojuhani Rautavaara, research she has presented at the Sounds of Now Vienna Music Festival. This blend of scholarly depth and creative insight shapes her approach as an educator, bringing a rich, thoughtful perspective to her students. When not composing, Madeleine finds inspiration in the negative spaces between nature, symbols, and dreams.
